Artist Statement
Robin Schuldt
I cannot recall a time in my life when I was not inspired by beauty in all its forms. Although there were many stops and starts along the way, I have always remained engaged in the creative process. Over the last few years, I have jumped back in with both feet and both hands to fully explore the possibilities of creating with mixed media.

I learned to paint my own papers by incorporating stamping techniques and mark-making with high-flow acrylic paints. Once I started, it was almost impossible to stop. Initially, I created collages from these papers, but in the past couple of years I have begun adhering my collages to canvases that I have painted myself.

I studied art history and worked for many years as a museum educator while raising two beautiful daughters. Today, I live on the East Side of Providence, where I am actively involved with the RISD Museum as a volunteer docent, spend time playing with my new grandson, and continue painting and collaging in the amazing studio my husband built for me not long ago.
I feel so lucky to have this opportunity in my life right now to fully indulge my imagination. Thank you for taking the time to enjoy my art.
